With New Zealand’s astounding five-wicket victory over Sri Lanka at the M.Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru, India, Pakistan’s chances of making it to the World Cup semi-final are virtually impossible.

The Kiwis jumped to the fourth spot after their Thursday win — bagging 10 points and a net run rate of 0.743. Pakistan, on the other hand, are at eight points with a net run rate of 0.036.

Pakistan need to beat England by about 288 runs to overcome New Zealand’s net run rate.

“If England get to 150, Pakistan will have to chase the target in 3.4 overs”. Trent Boult is the Player of the Match. Thanks for tuning in. Until next time, goodbye and take it easy,” S Rajesh of ESPN said.

Ahead of their final match against Pakistan, England captain Jos Buttler said the team has shown a desire to “put things right” in India at the ongoing ICC Men’s World Cup 2023.

The England skipper said the team is determined to secure a spot in the 2025 Champions Trophy with a top-eight finish.
