Pakistan army establishes freelancing hub in Gilgit-Baltistan to promote digital education

GILGIT BALTISTAN: In collaboration with the Special Communications Organization (SCO), the Pakistan Army has taken a significant initiative by establishing a new freelancing hub at Government Boys High School Taus, to promote digital education in Gilgit-Baltistan.

This move is designed to satisfy the changing needs of local youth, providing them with training in online business, freelancing, and skills of digital marketing. This hub aims to serve not just the students, but also community members, creating fresh job opportunities in the digital economy.

School Principal Shaheen Beg said the facility will benefit students and the surrounding community alike, prepared for the immediate transition into future job markets through digital skills training.

This is just the right step in the current digital age where local youth will have access to global employment opportunities. The establishment of this hub fits perfectly in the greater national effort toward digital skills development and generating employment opportunities in the northern area of Pakistan.

Along with SCO, Pakistan Army is working on setting up similar freelancing hubs in parts of Gilgit-Baltistan, including Darail Valley and Shigar. For instance, a freelancing hub was launched so that students can learn online business, freelancing, and digital marketing skills at Government Boys High School Darail Valley.

Likewise, a mini freelancing hub was opened at Govt Boys High School in Shigar, which is further expected to open the economy through new job prospects and develop the digital economy by creating more remote jobs.

The setup of these freelancing hubs actually shows the growing initiation of expanding digital literacy and economic opportunities in far-flung parts of Gilgit-Baltistan. The skills needed to work online will be provided to them by the Pakistan Army along with the SCO.

This will enable remote areas’ youth to get in touch with the global job market. Principal Beg emphasized that such facilities are very important now in this digital age and the establishment of such facilities is a huge step towards the promotion of digital education and economic development in the region.
