PTA rejects social media reports on mobile phone tax relief

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has rejected the news circulating on social media regarding the reduction in taxes on mobile phones, clarifying that the information being spread in this regard is completely false and misleading.

A statement issued by the PTA said that the notification attributed to the alleged tax reduction on mobile phones on social media platforms, instructions regarding importers and consumers is fake and has no legal status.

According to the authority, no reduction has been made in the taxes imposed on mobile phones.
