The Pakistan heavy rain snowfall forecast released by the Meteorological Department signals a shift in weather for several northern districts, even as much of the country is expected to remain cold and dry.
According to the latest advisory, Islamabad will likely continue to experience chilly and dry conditions in the coming days. Similarly, Peshawar and many parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are expected to see stable winter weather. However, officials say the province’s northern belt could receive rainfall, which may lower temperatures further.
The Met Office has predicted rain in several districts, including Dir, Battagram, Torghar, Mansehra, Haripur, and Abbottabad. In addition, showers are expected in Bajaur, Orakzai, Khyber, Kohat, Hangu, Karak, Bannu, Lakki Marwat, Tank, and both North and South Waziristan. As a result, residents in these areas should prepare for colder days ahead.
Meanwhile, snowfall is likely over mountainous regions in the upper districts. Because temperatures are already low, snow could affect travel routes and daily life in high-altitude areas. Authorities often advise travelers to check road conditions before planning trips during winter spells.
In contrast, most districts of Sindh and Balochistan are forecast to stay cold but dry. Weather experts note that such patterns are common during this time of year, when western weather systems mainly impact northern Pakistan while southern regions remain stable.
For Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan, cold weather is expected to persist. Skies may remain partly cloudy, although no major weather disruption has been highlighted so far. Still, meteorologists continue to monitor conditions closely for any sudden changes.
The Pakistan heavy rain snowfall forecast reflects typical winter behavior, as northern mountains often receive precipitation that helps maintain water reserves for the coming seasons. At the same time, prolonged cold can increase energy demand and put pressure on vulnerable communities.
Officials recommend staying updated through official weather alerts, especially in districts expecting rain or snow. Taking early precautions can reduce risks linked to slippery roads, limited visibility, and falling temperatures.
Overall, while large parts of the country will likely remain under dry winter conditions, the expected rain and snowfall in northern areas could bring a noticeable drop in temperatures and signal an active phase of the season.
