Islamabad weather forecast: Intermittent heavy rainfall expected

ISLAMABAD: The citizens of the Federal City experienced light rainfall in the early morning. The rainpour resulted in lowering the temperatures a little but soon the sun rose with its full potential making the weather 5% warmer than yesterday.

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecasted intermittent monsoon rains and winds for Islamabad, Rawalpindi, and other parts of Pakistan.

The citizens of Islamabad experienced pleasant weather in the early morning, whereas temperatures fluctuated ranging between 24 to 34 degrees Celsius.

The humidity levels range up to 62%, whereas the wind is moving in the northwest direction at the speed of 14 km/h.

Moreover, PMD forecasts a 14 percent chance of rain in the next 24 hours with occasional gaps.

Earlier, heavy rainfall affected many areas, several trees broke down because of gusty winds and thunderstorms blocking roads and traffic in the city.

Monsoon currents from the Arabian Sea and Bay of Bengal are affecting the upper regions of Pakistan, while a westerly wave is influencing the weather conditions.

The same weather patterns are anticipated, with additional intermittent rains and gusty winds in the twin cities, Kashmir, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, upper and central Punjab, and northeast Balochistan. Isolated heavy rainfall may occur in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, upper Punjab, Kashmir, and northeast Balochistan. Elsewhere in the country, hot and humid conditions are expected.
