Islamabad weather: Light rain expected in federal capital

ISLAMABAD: The residents of Islamabad are set to experience heavy rainfall from tomorrow morning, whereas light cool wind will blow all day long, making the weather bearable as compared to the last few days.

According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department, Heavy rains may generate flash floods in local nullahs/streams of Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, Pothohar region, and North-East Punjab.

Seasonal low lies over north Balochistan. Strong monsoon currents are penetrating the upper/central parts of the country from the Bay of Bengal and the Arabian Sea. A westerly wave is also affecting most upper parts of the country.

Rain-wind/thundershower is expected in East/South Punjab, South-East/North Balochistan, Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir, and Upper/Lower Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Rain-wind/thundershower may also occur at isolated places in Southeastern Sindh during the period.
