Islamabad weather update: Extreme cold to embrace federal capital

ISLAMABAD: The citizens of the federal capital witnessed chilly weather at night after which the with light sunlight in the morning. However, the temperatures are set to drop below freezing point accompanied by gusty winds during the night causing chilling weather in the federal capital.

The maximum temperature recorded today ranges up to 11 degrees Celsius, whereas the minimum temperature expected in the evening will range up to 04 degrees Celsius.

The humidity level in the federal capital ranges between 40 to 48% with light wind blowing in the northwest direction at the speed of 6 km/h. Whereas, the chance of precipitation is up to 0% today.

According to the Met Office, On Friday, the weather is expected to be cold and dry in most parts of the country, while it will be extremely cold and partly cloudy in the hilly areas. Moderate to heavy fog is expected in most districts of Punjab, upper Sindh and plain areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

According to the Chief Meteorologist Sardar Sarfraz a rain spell is expected in various parts of the country, including Islamabad, around January 20 due to winds entering Balochistan from Iran.

Upper parts of the country will also receive rain and snowfall after January 20, he said. He said that with this rain spell fog is expected to be reduced in most parts of the country.
