Islamabad weather update: Federal capital chokes as smog worsens

ISLAMABAD: The citizens of the federal capital witnessed bright sun in the morning but the weather remained pleasant in the city. However, the temperatures are set to drop during the night providing cooler nights in the federal capital.

The maximum temperature recorded today ranges up to 26 degrees Celsius, whereas the minimum temperature expected in the evening will range up to 15 degrees Celsius.

The humidity level in the federal capital ranges between 40 to 47% with light wind blowing in the northwest direction at the speed of 8 km/h. Whereas, the chance of precipitation is up to 1% today.

According to Met Office, the weather is likely to remain dry in most parts of Lak, while cold in hilly areas. However, in Gilgit-Baltistan and Upper Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, there may be rain in a few places and snowfall in the mountains in the evening/night. The plains of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and most areas of Punjab are covered with smog, while heavy fog is likely to fall during the night hours.
