Karachi weather forecast: Light rain to ease heatwave in port city

KARACHI: Pakistan Metrological Department (PMD) has predicted rain on Eid ul Adha days starting from June 18 with the minimum temperature expected to be around 29°C, and the maximum is expected to hit 34°C.

Met Office forecasted drizzle in some areas of port city tonight, with hot and humid weather expected in city over next 24 hours.

Humidity levels is expecting to remain at 72%, and sea winds are blowing at speeds of 30 to 35 kilometers per hour.

Last week, the Meteorological Office predicted that most parts of Sindh would endure hot conditions until June 20. However, under this new system, the port city will remain partly cloudy and windy for the next 10 days.

“Very hot and dry weather is likely in most parts of the province from June 17 to June 20. Duststorm/gusty winds Duststorm/gusty winds with isolated rain-thunderstorm is expected in Sukkur, Jacobabad, Kashmore and Larkana on June 21 and 22,” Met Office said.

PMD added that the moist currents from Arabian sea are likely to penetrate upper/central parts of the country including Islamabad from June 18. A Shallow westerly wave is also likely to approach western parts of the country on June 18.
