KARACHI: Karachi witnessed a drop in temperature as the icy winds returned on Saturday, resulting in a colder weather. The minimum temperature was recorded at 11 degrees Celsius, a decrease of 2.5 degrees Celsius from Friday.
Cold winds started blowing in different parts of the city overnight from Friday to Saturday, resulting in a cool Saturday morning.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department, there was a difference in temperature at different weather stations. The lowest temperature was noted at Jinnah Terminal with 9.7 degrees Celsius, while other readings were recorded at 12.3 degrees Celsius in Gulistan-e-Jauhar, 12.5 degrees Celsius in Maripur and 14.5 degrees Celsius in Shahrah-e-Faisal.
Looking ahead, the Meteorological Department’s Early Warning Center has predicted dry weather with cool nights in the coming days. The minimum temperature is expected to be between 11°C and 13°C, while the maximum could be between 26°C and 28°C.
The forecast indicated that winds would come mainly from the northeast, with fog likely in the central and upper districts in the morning.
