Weather update: PMD forecasts intense cold across Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: The weather is expected to remain cold and dry in most parts of the country, including the federal capital Islamabad, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD).

The Meteorological Department states that a wave of severe cold will persist in the mountainous areas, while smog will prevail in the plains of Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and upper Sindh.

According to the PMD, the weather will remain extremely cold in Islamabad, Murre, Galiyat, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sindh, and most districts of Balochistan. In addition, the weather is likely to remain cold in Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Kashmir.

On the other hand, fog is likely to occur in Lahore, Sialkot, Narowal, Sheikhupura, Gujranwala, Gujarat, Jhelum, Sahiwal, Multan, Khanewal, Bahawalpur, Rahim Yar Khan, Sukkur, Rohri, Ghotgi, Larkana, Mohenjo-Daro, Peshawar, Swabi, Mardan, Charsadda, Nowsher, and Dera Ismail Khan.
