ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) issued a new alert, which confirmed that the country currently experiences extreme heat conditions, with temperatures expected to rise beyond typical seasonal weather patterns during the next few days.

Most parts of Pakistan will experience hot and dry weather conditions, which will cause daytime temperatures to exceed their normal range, according to the Met Office.

The temperature in Islamabad and central and southern Punjab will exceed average levels by 3 to 5 degrees Celsius. The temperature in Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will exceed normal levels by 2 to 4 degrees according to weather forecasts.

The forecast shows that Balochistan’s northeastern and southern districts will experience higher temperatures, which will reach up to 4 degrees above their seasonal average temperatures.

The authorities issued a warning that the current heatwave will continue until May 5, with Sindh, southern Punjab, and Balochistan experiencing the most severe impacts.

The temperature in these locations might reach 45°C. Health experts are urging citizens to take precautionary measures during the extreme weather.

People should drink sufficient water and cold beverages to maintain hydration while remaining indoors during peak afternoon outdoor hours.
