A Punjab rain weather system has entered Pakistan and is expected to affect several districts of Punjab over the coming days, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD). The weather system is likely to bring rain to multiple areas while increasing the intensity of cold weather across the province.

Meteorological officials said the system has already begun influencing local weather patterns, raising the chances of rainfall in central and northern Punjab. Authorities have advised residents to remain cautious due to falling temperatures and changing weather conditions.

Rain Forecast for Major Punjab Cities

The Pakistan Meteorological Department stated that rain is expected in Rawalpindi, Sargodha, Faisalabad, and surrounding areas. Light to moderate rainfall may also occur in other parts of Punjab as the system continues to move across the region.

According to PMD officials, this weather pattern is part of a broader winter system affecting different parts of the country. The rain spell is expected to continue until February 3, after which conditions may gradually stabilize.

In Lahore, the minimum temperature is forecast to drop to around 9 degrees Celsius, while the maximum temperature may reach up to 21 degrees Celsius. Similar temperature trends are expected in nearby districts, with cooler nights and relatively mild daytime conditions.

Meteorologists explained that winter rain often leads to a noticeable drop in temperatures, particularly during early morning and nighttime hours. As a result, cold intensity is likely to increase in many parts of Punjab during this period.

Advisory Issued as Cold Intensity Increases

People are advised to wear warm clothing, especially during early morning and late evening hours, and to remain careful while traveling in rainy conditions.

Officials also noted that farmers should stay updated with official weather bulletins, as rain can impact standing crops and agricultural activities. Urban residents have been advised to prepare for possible slippery roads and reduced visibility in some areas during rainfall.

The PMD emphasized that it will continue to monitor the situation closely and provide timely updates if there are any changes in the forecast. Citizens are encouraged to rely on official sources for accurate and up-to-date weather information.

The current weather system is typical for the winter season in Punjab, but authorities stress that public awareness and preparedness remain essential to avoid inconvenience or risk during changing weather conditions.
