Eid relief: Oman sets March 18 deadline for salary payments

ISLAMABAD: The Gulf country of Oman has announced the good news of the payment of March salaries before Eid-ul-Fitr.

The Ministry of Labor has said that on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr, the salary for March 2026 will be paid before March 18, 2026.

The ministry said that on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr 1447 AH, the Ministry of Labor informs all private sector institutions that under the Labor Law (Royal Decree No. 53/2023), the payment of wages to workers for the month of March 2026 should be expedited, which cannot be delayed beyond Wednesday, March 18.

Employees of all government federal and provincial institutions are being paid their salaries, pensions and all allowances for the current month of March before Eid.

According to the announcement, all Muslim government employees and pensioners, including employees serving on work-charged and contingent-paid positions, will receive their full salary, pension and allowances on March 16, 2026.

The concerned authorities have directed all government departments to complete the payroll and pension process without any delay so that the funds are transferred to the accounts of employees and pensioners before the start of the Eid holidays.

It should be noted that this time in Pakistan, 30 days of fasting have been completed and Eid-ul-Fitr is predicted to be on Saturday, March 21.
