ISLAMABAD: According to international defense and security experts, Iran has tested a long-range intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) with a range of about 10,000 kilometers.

Iranian defense experts and some parliamentary sources have said that Iran has tested a missile with a range of 10,000 kilometers for the first time, which was launched towards Siberia.

Which is causing concern in defense circles in Western countries and the region. This range of this missile would mean that it can reach targets in very distant places, including parts of Europe and the United States.

This report has come from Iranian defense experts and some analysts, but international sources or independent defense organizations have not officially confirmed the test.

If such a missile has been truly tested, it would be considered a major step in Iran’s defense capabilities, as few countries in the world have a range of 10,000 kilometers.

Claims about Iran’s long-range missile program have been persistent, but consistent, independent verification has been lacking.

Background

Iran’s missile program already includes ballistic and intermediate-range missiles, including several types of systems, but no publicly acknowledged test of an intercontinental-range missile has been reported before.

This case could prove to be a turning point in the global defense and security debate, and could also influence the peace policies and negotiations of various countries.
