TEHRAN: Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Esmail Baghai said that the Israeli and American atrocities on the Iranian people will not be forgotten.
The agreement does not mean that we will forgive or forget the crimes. At a press briefing in Tehran, Esmail Baghai said that the mechanism for signing the memorandum of understanding between Iran and the United States will be finalized today or tomorrow, and then it will be announced.
The signing of the MoU will take place in Geneva on Friday. Before the signing ceremony in Geneva, Iranian officials will visit neighboring countries. The war must end on all fronts, including Lebanon.
Lebanon’s sovereignty must be respected. Ending aggression against Lebanon, respecting its sovereignty and territorial integrity, are also fundamental parts of the memorandum of understanding.
The Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson said that Iran will take steps to make the Strait of Hormuz a safe passage with Oman and other countries. Maritime service fees will be collected. This will be for a specific period and will be in accordance with America’s own obligations and promises.
He said that under the agreement, the US has promised to pay compensation and restore frozen assets. The US is bound to fulfill its promises under the agreement.
The US has to give Iran’s frozen assets. The US will not give any of its money to Iran. Iran has a right to the frozen assets. Iran should also be allowed to export its oil and petrochemicals. If the US fails to fulfill its promises, it will face retaliatory measures.
Ismail Baqai said that the US tried once to remove enriched uranium from Iran and saw the result. The agreement does not mean that we will forgive or forget the crimes. We will not forget the Israeli and American atrocities on the Iranian people.
We will not forget that we lost our leadership in large numbers. The Iranian people stood by their leadership. International organizations failed to condemn the US and Zionist aggression against Iran.
The US government will have to travel a long way to regain the trust of the Iranian people.
