SOUTH KOREA:  A South Korean Air Force F-16C fighter jet crashed in South Korea.

According to foreign media, the accident occurred in a mountain range near the city of Yeongju while the plane was engaged in training exercises.

According to reports, the pilot of the plane managed to safely eject from the plane.

There were no immediate reports of injuries to the pilot or any civilian casualties or property damage.

A fire at the scene of the accident ignited a forest fire, but according to officials, the risk of the fire spreading is low and it will be extinguished soon.

The South Korean Air Force has established a committee headed by the vice chief of staff to investigate the causes of the accident.

It should be noted that this is the second accident involving a US-made F-16 aircraft in less than 24 hours. Previously, a Turkish Air Force F-16 crashed near a highway in western Turkey. The pilot, identified as Air Force Major Ibrahim Bolat, was killed in the accident.
