WASHINGTON: The Nobel Peace Prize will be announced tomorrow, Friday, in Oslo, and before that, the 79-year-old Trump’s anxiety about the prize is at its peak.

He has been complaining for months that his efforts for world peace are being ignored.

Trump praised his peace mission in a statement on Wednesday, saying that we have ended seven wars. We are close to ending the eighth, and I think we will also solve the problem of Russia.

Trump added that they might find a reason not to give me the prize.

Trump had clearly said last week that if he did not win the prize, “it would be a great insult to our country.”

Turmoil on the diplomatic front

Trump’s open desire to win the prize has also had a profound impact on global diplomacy.

According to the Washington Post, a former top Israeli negotiator said that this pressure may have accelerated the ceasefire agreement between Hamas and Israeli officials, so that Trump could be awarded the prize by declaring peace at the last minute.

Colonel Doron Hadar, a former commander of the Israeli Defense Forces’ negotiating unit, said that everyone understands the timeline for the Nobel Committee’s announcement in Oslo, and that is why the parties are rushing to reach an agreement.

Realizing this desire of Trump, several world leaders have also come forward to appease him. Pakistan, Israel and Cambodia have officially nominated them, while the president of Taiwan has also indicated that if Trump succeeds in dissuading China from military ambitions on Taiwan, he will undoubtedly be entitled to the prize.

There are also calls within the United States for Trump to be awarded the Nobel Prize.

From Pfizer CEO Albert Bourla to Senator Bill Cassidy, many have called for Trump to be awarded the prize based on Operation Warp Speed, a coronavirus vaccine development initiative.

An organization of hostage families in Israel has also called for Trump to be awarded the Nobel Peace Prize, praising his efforts to broker a ceasefire in Gaza and secure the release of hostages.
