NEW YORK: The United States has carried out extensive airstrikes against the extremist organization ISIS in Syria.

According to the US Central Command, these operations were carried out in cooperation with coalition forces, in which several important ISIS centers were targeted.

A statement issued by Centcom said that these attacks are part of a military campaign called “Operation Hawkeye Strike”. This operation was launched on December 19, 2025, when President Donald Trump instructed to accelerate operations against ISIS.

According to US officials, this military campaign was launched in response to the ISIS attack on the historic city of Palmyra in Syria on December 13, in which two US soldiers and an American civilian translator were killed.

The statement said that the aim of the recent airstrikes is to weaken ISIS operations, prevent the risk of future attacks, and ensure the security of US and coalition forces deployed in the region.

CENTCOM has warned bluntly that if the US military or its personnel are targeted, those responsible will not be allowed to hide anywhere and action will continue against them.
