US tops 2025 list of Most Powerful Countries

ISLAMABAD: US News and World Report has released a list of the 50 most powerful countries in the world for the year 2025, in which the United States once again topped the list.

According to the report, the United States has been declared the most powerful country in the world due to its political influence, strong economy, modern military power and leadership role in global alliances.

China is second in the list and Russia is third, while the United Kingdom is fourth and Germany is fifth. Among the prominent countries in Asia, South Korea is sixth, Japan is eighth, Saudi Arabia is ninth, India is twelfth and Turkey is seventeenth.

Australia is 18th, Qatar is 19th and the United Arab Emirates is 11th, which have been successful in strengthening their economic and defense position in the Middle East.

Interestingly, Bangladesh has also made it to the list for the first time and is at 47th position, while Jordan is at 50th position.

According to the report, powerful countries are those that influence global politics, economics, and security decisions, have a strong military, and assert their presence internationally.

The report says that a powerful country is one that leads the world, has economic influence, is politically influential, has strong global alliances, and is defensively strong.
