ISLAMABAD: The federal government has decided to abolish duties on imported vehicles.
The Ministry of Industries and Production has prepared a 5-year auto policy, the policy will be approved by the IMF before its announcement.
According to sources, the auto policy proposes to abolish duties on imported vehicles, bring customs duty to 15 percent over a period of 5 years, and tighten safety standards and the licensing system.
The final draft will be shared with the IMF by the end of this month. The policy will be presented to the federal cabinet after receiving a green signal from the IMF.
