LAHORE: The Punjab government has taken an important and people-friendly step for motorcyclists and has released Rs 6.6 billion under the Bikers Subsidy Program. The aim of this initiative is to provide relief to the public in the era of inflation and make daily travel easier.

Eligible bikers who complete registration under the program will be given a petrol subsidy of Rs 2,000 per month. The Punjab government has prepared the complete procedure for this project, while Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has also given its formal approval.

Officials say that a summary of funds worth a total of Rs 24 billion was sent to the Finance Department for the Bikers Subsidy Program, out of which the first phase of funds have been released. About 12.5 million motorcyclists are expected to benefit under this program.

Citizens say that this move will not only reduce public hardship but will also have a positive impact on the economy. Citizens have appreciated the government’s decision and expressed hope that such welfare projects will continue in the future as well.
