PESHAWAR: Chicken prices have seen an unprecedented increase in Peshawar, with the meat currently being sold for Rs 720 per kg.
According to details that emerged on Saturday, inflation in Peshawar continues to spiral out of control, with the price of live chicken increasing by Rs 90 per kg in just five days. With this surge, the wholesale market price has reached Rs 450 per kg.
There are no signs of abating in the trend of increasing chicken prices. In the last five days, the price of live chicken has seen a significant increase of Rs 90, while chicken meat has increased from Rs 575 to Rs 720 per kg.
According to poultry dealers, the main reason for this increase is the shortage of chickens in Punjab’s poultry farms. Moreover, the rising price of daily chicks has also caused the increase in prices.
