ISLAMABAD: Bank Alflah has turned into the banking mafia, as a bank customer revealed that the facility has been charging exorbitant fees for using ATMs.
As per details, a journalist shared his experience on X, stating that “he inserted another bank’s card into a Bank Alfalah ATM” and was slapped with staggering charges.
According to the message displayed on the ATM screen, which he also shared on X, Rs 100 would be charged for a simple balance inquiry, while a whopping Rs 750 would be deducted for a cash withdrawal.
This incident has sparked widespread outrage, with many questioning the basis of these excessive fees.
The user argued that the banking sector is already raking in millions from various service charges, and the additional fees for using ATMs are nothing short of “open looting.” The journalist questioned the basis of heavy fees being charged.
This incident has reignited the debate on the need for greater transparency and accountability in the banking sector. As the public outcry grows, one thing is clear: the banking mafia’s extortionate practices will no longer go unchallenged.
Later, Bank Alfalah replied to the post, “Dear Customer, we’re sorry for the inconvenience caused. Please specify your issue via DM so that we can assist you accordingly.”
