ISLAMABAD: The Fauji Fertilizer Company has increased the price of granulated urea by Rs. 125 per bag. The price ceiling for the FFBL brand of granulated urea is set at Rs. 4,749 per bag.
In the meantime, the industry observes stable demand. Nevertheless, fertilizer stocks are increasing in Pakistan.
However, the price of prilled urea remains at Rs. 4,525 per bag.
According to estimates, the sales of urea amounted to 419,000 tons in May 2026. The level of sales is similar to that observed in May last year. Nevertheless, there is a decrease in sales by 10% in comparison to April.
The reasons for the mentioned trend include the approaching end of the early Kharif season purchases. In addition, dealers try to sell their products before replenishing stocks purchased in April. Moreover, increased prices discourage purchases among some farmers in the region.
Thus, the inventory level of the industry increased to 0.99 million tons in May. Previously, this indicator was 0.83 million tons in April.
Despite the mentioned decrease in sales, demand remains high. According to calculations, the cumulative sales of urea amount to 1.9 million tons in the first five months of 2026. Thus, the demand growth amounts to 8% relative to last year.
