ISLAMABAD: Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb says that the burden of petroleum product prices on the public should be kept as low as possible.
A review meeting of the committee established to review petroleum product prices was held under the chairmanship of Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb, in which a comprehensive review of the situation of reserves was taken.
The committee was briefed on the current reserves of crude oil and refined petroleum products and import arrangements, supply chain logistics, and the committee members were also informed about the cargo ships on the way.
The committee members said that petroleum reserves in the country are at a satisfactory level, the supply chain is working effectively, and there are appropriate arrangements to ensure continuity of supply next week.
The Finance Minister said that ensuring uninterrupted supply of petroleum products is the top priority of the government. There is significant volatility in the global energy markets at the moment. Thanks to timely planning, the supply situation in the country is stable.
In addition, the meeting also reviewed the current situation of crude oil and refined petroleum products at the global level, and discussed the potential impacts of possible external scenarios on the country’s economy.
