ISLAMABAD: Flour prices have increased in various cities including Peshawar and Quetta.
In Peshawar, a 20-kilogram bag of flour has become more expensive by Rs 200 in a few days, a 20-kilogram bag of flour is being sold for Rs 2,650.
In the retail market, the price of flour has increased by Rs 10 to Rs 140 per kilogram. Dealers have attributed the price increase to a ban on the shipment of flour from Punjab to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
In Quetta, a 20-kilogram bag of flour has also become more expensive by Rs 200, the price has reached Rs 2,500, and in Quetta, the price of a 50-kilogram bag has increased by Rs 500, reaching Rs 6,250.
Dealers have attributed the increase in flour prices to the Punjab government’s district closures. Price increases have also been recorded in other cities of the country.
