Gold prices rise Rs 2,000 today; up over 2 lakh in a year

ISLAMABAD: Gold prices have declined across the country on the fourth day of the business week. According to the Sarafa Bazaar Association, gold has fallen by Rs 600 per tola to Rs 466,162.

Similarly, the price of 10 grams of gold fell by Rs 515, after which it has risen to Rs 399,685.

It should be noted that the annual demand for gold in Pakistan is between 60 and 90 tons, which is worth about $ 8 to $ 12 billion, but more than 90 percent of this business is still undocumented.

According to the CCP’s research report on “Pakistan’s Gold Market”, 70 percent of the country’s gold demand is related to weddings and celebrations.

Pakistan also relies on gold imports and imported $17 million worth of gold in fiscal year 2024. The country’s official reserves were recorded at 64.76 tons by the end of 2025, worth about $9 billion.
