ISLAMABAD: Gold prices in Pakistan showed noticeable fluctuations during the past week, driven by changes in the international bullion market and currency movements.
According to market data, the price of 24-karat gold per tola started the week at around Rs495,000 on April 25 and gradually declined before stabilizing near Rs481,800 by May 3.
During the week, gold prices recorded highs and lows:
- April 25: Rs495,000 per tola
- April 27: Rs491,500 per tola
- April 29: Rs476,500 per tola (weekly low)
- May 1: around Rs483,000 per tola
- May 3: Rs481,800 per tola
Similarly, the price of 10 grams of 24K gold hovered around Rs413,000 to Rs414,000 by the end of the week.
Traders in major cities including Karachi, Lahore, and Islamabad reported moderate activity, with buyers remaining cautious amid price volatility.
Experts say gold rates are likely to remain unstable in the coming days due to global economic uncertainty and fluctuations in the US dollar, which directly impact local bullion markets.
