Govt bears Rs69bn fuel burden, eyes targeted relief

Lahore: Federal Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb has said that the government has borne the burden of Rs 69 billion on the prices of petroleum products.

Federal Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb, while holding a press conference, said that a daily meeting is held regarding the supply of energy in the country, uninterrupted supply of petrol, diesel and LPG is being ensured.

The Federal Finance Minister said that efforts are being made to put the least burden on the people, our resources are not unlimited, the Prime Minister has said that the least burden should be put on the people.

Muhammad Aurangzeb said that the supply chain situation is expected to improve by April, demand management and energy saving measures are being considered, there is a risk that energy infrastructure will be affected by tension and war situations.

The Federal Finance Minister further said that we will move towards targeted relief, the target is the deserving class, we all have to work together to get the country out of the crisis.
