ISLAMABAD: The federal government of Pakistan has further increased the burden of petroleum levy on citizens.
The government has increased the levy on petrol and high-speed diesel by Rs 13.91 per liter, fulfilling the condition of the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
The levy on petrol has been set at Rs 117.41 per liter and on high-speed diesel at Rs 42.60 per liter.
According to sources, after the increase, the petroleum levy on petrol has been increased from Rs 103.50 to Rs 117.41 per liter, while the levy on high-speed diesel has been increased from Rs 28.69 to Rs 42.60 per liter.
Sources say that the government has also fulfilled the condition of imposing a total petroleum levy of Rs 160 per liter on both petrol and high-speed diesel.
