Govt to attract $3 billion investment in Dhabeji SEZ

ISLAMABAD: The government has signed an agreement with Chinese and local investors for the establishment of the “Dhabeji Special Economic Zone” in Thatta.

The project is expected to attract 3 billion dollars in investment and create over 100,000 jobs. It is expected to serve as a key hub for both local and international investors, particularly Chinese Businesses.

The special economic zone will be established for economic revival under the second phase of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) with the support of the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC).

The Dhabeji Special Economic Zone will be completed under a Public-Private Partnership model, the state-run Radio Pakistan reported.

The zone’s strategic location near Karachi’s Ports will provide direct access to global trade routes, it read.

The SEZ aims to support industrial growth, increase exports, and enhance self-reliance in Pakistan’s economy, the statement read.
