ISLAMABAD: Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) has announced a complete shutdown of gas supply in Karachi for 48 hours due to severe shortage in its system.
According to an SSGC spokesperson, gas supply in the city will remain suspended from 8 am tomorrow and is likely to remain suspended till 8 am on January 5.
The spokesperson explained that the company is facing a severe shortage of gas, which has severely affected overall availability.
Low line packs and pressure drop in the system are already causing problems for consumers, indicating that the utility is moving towards a temporary shutdown.
The spokesperson confirmed that all industrial units, including power generation plants, will remain without gas during this period.
The SSGC has appealed to consumers for cooperation and patience, saying that the supply will be restored as soon as the gas situation stabilizes and the system pressure returns to safe levels.
