ISLAMABAD: The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has hiked the Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) price for December 2025, pushing the burden on consumers amid the winter season.
According to the notification issued on Monday, an 11.8 kg household LPG cylinder has become Rs87.21 more expensive, going up from Rs 2,378.89 per cylinder to Rs 2,466.10, representing a monthly increase of 3.66%.
As per the revised rate, the maximum consumer price of LPG has been set at Rs 208,991.40 per metric ton, compared to Rs 201,600.43 per ton in November. This reflects an increase of Rs 7,390.97 per ton.
OGRA stated that the revised prices are effective December 1, 2025, and will remain in place for the month unless revised due to global market fluctuations.
OGRA attributed the upward revision to two global and financial factors. The Saudi Aramco Contract Price (CP) rose by 4.93% this month. Additionally, a 0.15% depreciation in the average US dollar exchange rate contributed to higher import-linked LPG rates.
Earlier on Sunday, the federal government cut petrol by Rs2 and high-speed diesel (HSD) by Rs4.79 per litre for the next two weeks, effective December 1. Petrol will now cost Rs263.45 per litre and HSD Rs279.65 per litre.
