KARACHI: After the increase in the price of LPG, profiteers became unbridled and started selling it for more than Rs 400 per kg instead of the official rate of Rs 306.
According to the details, after the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) had set the new official price of LPG at Rs 306.76 per kg, shopkeepers and profiteers started selling gas for more than Rs 400 per kg, which has further increased the burden of inflation on the poor and middle class.
On the one hand, severe load shedding of Sui gas is continuing across the country, especially in Karachi, and on the other hand, the non-availability of LPG at the official price in the markets has made the lives of citizens miserable.
Due to gas load shedding and expensive LPG, domestic consumers, as well as rickshaw owners and daily wage earners, are facing severe problems, who say that the uncontrolled increase in fares and fuel prices has left their stoves cold.
Consumers and ordinary citizens have harshly criticized the district administration on social media, saying that despite the illegal increase in fuel prices in the market and open profiteering, the administration has remained a silent spectator.
