No fuel shortage in Pakistan, reserves sufficient: Minister

Fuel reserves stand at 12 days for crude, 25 days for diesel: Finance Ministry

ISLAMABAD: Minister of State for Finance Bilal Azhar Kayani has dismissed rumours of fuel shortage in Pakistan, saying that the country has sufficient reserves of petroleum products.

He assured that the supply chain is functioning smoothly and without any disruption. The minister added that the government is closely monitoring the situation following the recent Iran-Israel tensions.

OGRA has directed all oil marketing companies to maintain mandatory reserve levels in light of the current situation.

Bilal Azhar Kayani appealed to the public not to panic, stressing that the Prime Minister, the Ministry of Petroleum and the Ministry of Finance are jointly monitoring the fuel supply situation.

He confirmed that the government is fully prepared to deal with any uncertainty and advised citizens to trust official statements rather than rumours.
