ISLAMABAD: The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has reduced the price of domestic liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) by Rs 2.50 per kg, taking the price of 11.8 kg domestic cylinder to Rs 47.43 for January 2025.
In a notification issued on Tuesday, the regulator has fixed the consumer price of LPG at Rs. 250.3 per kg for January. The price of 11.8 kg domestic cylinder for consumers has been fixed at Rs. 3,000.79 for December 2024 as compared to Rs 2,953.36 for January.
The regulator highlighted that the LPG producer price is linked to the Saudi Aramco-CP and US dollar exchange rates. Saudi Aramco-CP has decreased by 2% compared to the previous month, while the average dollar exchange rate has increased by 0.12%, resulting in a decrease in the consumer price of LPG.
It is worth mentioning here that the price of 11.8 kg domestic cylinder for December 2024 has been increased by 0.04%, almost unchanged.
