ISLAMABAD: A comparative study of petrol prices at the regional level has revealed that petrol is being sold more expensively in Pakistan than in many neighboring countries in the region. This has further increased the problems of the people burdened by the burden of inflation.
According to the data, the price of petrol in Pakistan has reached about Rs 414.78 per liter, while petrol is available for about Rs 370 in Sri Lanka, Rs 360 in China, Rs 302 in India and Rs 288 in Bangladesh.
According to the report, petrol prices in Afghanistan and the Maldives are also lower than in Pakistan, while fuel is available at very low rates in Iran due to government subsidies.
Economists say that petrol is becoming expensive in Pakistan due to fluctuations in crude oil prices in the global market, depreciation of the rupee and government tax policies.
According to experts, the increase in fuel prices not only increases transport costs but also makes essential goods more expensive. Which severely affects the household budget.
On the other hand, there is also a strong reaction from the public on social media, where consumers are expressing concern over the difference in petrol prices in Pakistan and other countries.
