ISLAMABAD: According to the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics, the country’s textile group exports grew by 9.7 percent in the first half (July-December) of the current fiscal year 2024-25 and stood at $9.09 billion as against $8.29 billion during the same period of the previous fiscal year.
The data showed that textile group exports increased by 5.7 percent in December 2024 and stood at $1.48 billion as against $1.4 billion in December 2023 and increased by 1.3 percent on a month-on-month (MoM) basis as against $1.46 billion in November 2024.
The overall exports and imports data showed that exports were largely stagnant, growing by 1 percent and stood at $2.841 billion in December 2024 as against $2.882 billion during the same month of the previous fiscal year.
Imports recorded a 14% increase and stood at $5.285 billion in December 2024 as against $4.635 billion in the same month of the previous fiscal year. The import figures for the month are the highest in two years. In H1, exports grew by 11% and stood at $16.561 billion. Imports during the same period grew by 6% to $27.733 billion.
