ISLAMABAD: The petrol prices are likely to increase in the country from September 16 for the next 15 days, according to media reports.
While the price of petrol has been proposed to be increased by Rs 1.54 per liter, high-speed diesel has been proposed to be increased by Rs 4.79 per liter.
Kerosene is likely to become expensive by Rs 3.6 per liter for 15 days, while light diesel oil has been proposed to be increased by Rs 3.68 per liter.
Sources say that the working paper does not include government taxes and exchange losses.
OGRA will send a summary of the new price determination to the government on September 15. The Prime Minister will give final approval to the new petroleum prices for 15 days.
After the Prime Minister’s approval, the Finance Ministry will issue a notification. At present, the current price of petrol in the country is 264.61 while the current price of diesel is 269.99.
