Petrol prices expected to drop for next fortnight

Fuel reserves stand at 12 days for crude, 25 days for diesel: Finance Ministry

ISLAMABAD: The Petroleum product prices are likely to drop by Rs 11.  The department concerned has prepared a preliminary working plan for reducing the prices of petroleum products. The final announcement will be made on December 15

According to media reports, the prices of petroleum products are likely to drop by Rs 11 per liter from December 16.

According to sources, the department concerned has prepared a preliminary working plan for reducing the prices of petroleum products.

According to sources, petrol is likely to be cheaper by 36 paise per liter and diesel by Rs 11.85 per liter. Kerosene is likely to be cheaper by Rs 11.70 per liter and light diesel by Rs 10.1 per liter.

The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority will send a summary of prices for approval on December 15, after which the Petroleum Division will issue a notification of new prices after the Prime Minister’s approval.

If the proposed reduction is made, then the new price of petrol will be Rs 263.9 paise, the new price of high-speed diesel will be Rs 267.80 paise.

In addition, after the proposed reduction, the price of kerosene will be Rs 181.16 paise per liter, while the new price of light diesel will be Rs 153.76 paise per liter.
