ISLAMABAD: The Pakistani people are likely to get relief from petrol prices for the fourth time in a row.
According to officials, the prices of petroleum products are expected to decrease from January 16, which will provide more convenience to consumers after the major relief received at the beginning of the new year.
Sources say that the prices of petroleum products may decrease by Rs 4.59 per liter in total.
According to this working, petrol is likely to become cheaper by Rs 4.59 per liter, high-speed diesel by Rs 2.70 per liter. Similarly, the price of kerosene is expected to decrease by Rs 1.82 per liter, while the price of light diesel oil is expected to decrease by Rs 2.8 per liter.
After the approval of the Prime Minister, the Petroleum Division will announce the new prices, which will be effective for the next 15 days.
It should be noted that on January 1, 2026, the price of petrol was reduced by Rs 10.28 per liter, while the price of high-speed diesel was reduced by Rs 8.57 per liter.
According to officials, the expected reduction in prices is due to the decline in prices in the international oil market, reduction in customs duty and changes in currency rates. On January 11, the price of petrol in the global market had fallen by $ 2.74 per barrel to $ 66.54 per barrel.
