PTA warns users about SIM suspension

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has warned users about SIM suspension.

PTA says that users should keep the validity of their identity cards updated in a timely manner, SIMs linked to expired or inactive identity cards can be suspended at any time.

Mobile services can be continued without interruption by timely renewal of identity cards, immediate steps should be taken to avoid closure of SIMs registered on inactive identity cards.

PTA officials said that citizens across the country should update all the information of their identity cards in a timely manner, mobile service can be maintained by reactivating the identity card from NADRA.

Users should visit the service center of the respective mobile operator and complete their biometric verification, users with inactive identity cards should check their SIM registration status immediately.

The social media post further states that timely renewal of identity documents will not affect your mobile connectivity at all.
