KARACHI: Sindh Home Minister Zia-ul-Hassan Lanjar has claimed that Karachi is a better city than New York.

While expressing his views in the Sindh Assembly session, the provincial home minister said that Karachi belongs to everyone, including Sindhis, Urdu speakers, Punjabis, Karachi is and will remain the capital of Sindh, there will be no confusion with speeches.

Zia-ul-Hassan Lanjar said that Karachi is now ranked 170th among dangerous cities, it is a better city than New York, motorcycle theft is very high for which legislation will have to be made, theft will not decrease until trackers are installed on bikes.

Addressing the opposition, he said that when the operation was carried out in 1992, the MQM friends were part of the government. We were in the opposition then and our people were also arrested. Every time, efforts were made to ensure that Karachi remained in an uncertain situation. There would be no compromise on law and order. You are taking us back to 1992. Even if it is an MPA who takes the law into his own hands, action will be taken.

He said that the PPP government will not allow sacked bodies. If sacked bodies are your party policy, then it is bad. The ancestors of many members sitting in the assembly were also assembly members. In the 1935 assembly, 85 members were Sindhi Muslims. They had lands and became members. Do not distort history.
