KARACHI: Cement prices in Pakistan registered a marginal decline in the average retail rate, statistics released by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) said.
In the week ended September 11, the average retail price of a 50kg cement bag in Pakistan stood at Rs1,390, registering a 0.07 percent decline from the last week’s price of Rs1,391 (week ended September 4).
There was no change in cement prices in the southern cities, where the average retail price remained unchanged at Rs1,443 per bag for both weeks.
In Punjab, Lahore recorded the highest rate at Rs. 1,443, followed by Bahawalpur at Rs. 1,450, while Gujranwala and Multan stood at Rs. 1,420 and Rs. 1,424 respectively.
Sialkot registered Rs. 1,410, Faisalabad Rs. 1,380, Rawalpindi Rs. 1,372, Sargodha Rs. 1,370, and Islamabad Rs. 1,367.
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Peshawar reported Rs. 1,350, whereas Bannu recorded the lowest price in the region at Rs. 1,300. Meanwhile, in Sindh, Karachi’s rate matched Islamabad at Rs. 1,367, with Hyderabad slightly higher at Rs. 1,427, Larkana at Rs. 1,407, and Sukkur reaching Rs. 1,465.
In Balochistan, Quetta topped the national chart at Rs. 1,510, followed by Khuzdar at Rs. 1,483.
