Pakistan, India Javelin stars set for showdown in World Athletics Championship 2025

TOKYO: Pakistan and India will once again face each other tomorrow as Arshad Nadeem and Neeraj Chopra will participate in the ongoing World Athletics Championship in Tokyo.

Other famous javelin throwers, including Germany’s Weber, will also be in action.

The qualifying round of the javelin throw event in the World Athletics Championship is on Wednesday, which will start at 4:45 pm Pakistan time.

Through the qualifying round, the eight best javelin throwers are to be selected for the final, which is scheduled for Thursday.

Arshad Nadeem has appealed to the nation for prayers in his message. He says that just as the entire nation supported him in the Paris Olympics. Similarly, remember me in your prayers for this event now, too.

Arshad Nadeem said that I have worked hard, and I will try my best to make Pakistan famous once again.

Earlier, Pakistan’s Olympic gold medalist javelin thrower, Arshad Nadeem, was in full swing with his preparations for the upcoming World Athletics Championships, as his coach and physio have declared him fit and ready to compete for another gold.

At the Punjab Stadium, Lahore, Arshad has been training hard in morning and evening sessions, focusing on physical conditioning, running, and javelin throw practice.

Expressing confidence in his form, his coach, Salman Butt, and physio Dr Asad Abbas Shah said that the star athlete is not only fit but also determined to perform at his best.

“We are hopeful that Arshad Nadeem will once again bring a gold medal for Pakistan,” they said.

Arshad is set to leave for Tokyo, Japan, on September 9.

He will represent Pakistan at the World Athletics Championship,s where he will compete on September 17 and 18.
