ISLAMABAD: Following his historic Olympic achievement at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, Olympic champion Arshad Nadeem was nominated to Forbes‘ 30 Under 30 Asia list on Monday.
Originally released last month, the entertainment and sports list seeks to “[spotlight] the next generation of talent on court and the screen.”
With a huge 92.97-meter throw in Paris that Forbes referred to as a “stunning show,” Nadeem, 28, broke the Olympic record and won gold, changing Pakistan’s athletic trajectory. It was the country’s first individual gold medal and the first of any color in almost 30 years.
In last month’s Asian Athletic Championships, Nadeem maintained his dominance in the javelin by winning gold with a throw of 86.40 meters, just missing the meet record of 86.72 meters.
With his victory, Pakistan won gold in the Asian Athletics Championship for the first time in over 50 years.
After winning gold at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham and a silver medal at the 2023 World Championships in Budapest, Nadeem became a well-known name in athletics on a world level.
The only major competition in which he has yet to win gold is the World Athletics Championships in September, for which he will shortly travel to England.
