Sugar prices increase across Pakista

ISLAMABAD: After further increase in prices, sugar has become out of reach of the people, the administration of various cities seems helpless in controlling the prices.

In many cities, shopkeepers have increased their own prices, sugar is not available in the open market at the official price, which has increased the anxiety of the people suffering from inflation.

In Lahore, sugar is being sold at 190 to 220 rupees per kg, in Peshawar city at 210, in Quetta at 185, in Rawalpindi at 190 rupees per kg, the official rate of sugar is 176 rupees per kg, however, the official price is not being implemented anywhere.

Sugar, ghee, cooking oil, flour, tomatoes, onions have become expensive

In Faisalabad, the price of sugar increased by Rs 20 to 25 per kg in a week, the official rate is 175, sugar is being sold in the market for Rs 200 to 210

According to the Retailers Association, the official price of sugar in Karachi is Rs 177, while it is Rs 190 in retail and Rs 195 per kg at the wholesale level.

In Hyderabad, sugar is being sold at Rs 185 to 190 per kg, while a 50 kg bag of sugar is being sold wholesale for Rs 9,150. In addition, the price of sugar in Peshawar has increased by Rs 10 to Rs 210 to Rs 220 in a week.
