CM Maryam directs institutions to award teachers of top students

Punjab CM Maryam announces Rs5000 Eidi Scheme

LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has directed the education department to award prizes to top students and their teachers from all provincial boards.

At a meeting with the department, the chief minister approved the Student Scholarship Program and Laptop Scheme, instructing officials to prepare for their implementation.

She announced that the Punjab government will allocate over Rs125 billion annually to cover educational expenses for 25,000 students.

Additionally, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has ordered the launch of a transport program for female students, with buses to be provided to 60 girls’ colleges in the first phase.

She also called for the establishment of information technology hubs in every district of Punjab.

Moreover, the meeting was attended by Senior Provincial Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb, Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat, Chief Secretary Zahid Akhtar Zaman, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Sajid Zafar Dal, and Higher Education Secretary Dr. Farrukh Naveed.
