Govt introduces digital education program in govt schools

Punjab yet to decide on summer vacations as holiday cut proposal under review

LAHORE: The government of Punjab has taken a step towards introducing digital education in the schools of Punjab with the aim of raising the learning standards in the government institutions.

At the outset, the launch of Google Workspace for Education for public schoolchildren was approved by the provincial cabinet. Thus, the students will be provided with access to modern digital learning and collaboration tools.

The students under the program will be provided with the use of online classrooms, official email services, cloud storage, and document-sharing tools. Besides, these facilities will enable the students to get the study material at their convenience.

On top of that, the initiative is going to develop digital skills, creativity, and collaboration among students. Hence, the officials think that it will make the academic and professional future of the learners easier.

In the meantime, the government will implement measures that would facilitate communication between teachers and students. The online platforms would not only be supportive of classroom teaching but also promote interactive learning.

Moreover, the initiative is not just an end but a means to an end, as it is the beginning of a more extensive digital transformation plan for government schools.

The authorities want public education to be in sync with the global standards. Consequently, the officials are of the opinion that the extension of digital education in the schools of Punjab will help to close the technology gap. The ultimate aim is to provide the entire province with equal access to learning.
